Bradley Stewart, assistant coach of Jamaica, beleives that the squad has taken a key step, ahead of FIFA World Cup qualification series, towards getting things in place.

The only goal was scored by Ryan Johnson, the San Jose Earthquake striker, in the 65th minute. It was the fourth win of the Jamaicans over the Central Americans in twenty games.

Stewart was happy with the performance of the team and is more concerned about the continued preparation for the 2014 FIFA World cup qualification campaign.

He said, “This was a game that both teams needed to have played. I think the Costa Ricans, like us, are in a preparation phase and we accepted the opportunity that the Captain (Horace Burrell) had organised with open arms, knowing it was going to be a tough game. There was not a moment in the game when either team was able to relax.”

Earlier, two matches were won by Venezuela.

The Colombian new manager Hernan Dario Gomez and his assistant Leonel Alvarez seems doing a great job.

Colombia will play against Mexico next Thursday in a friendly match in San Nicolas de los Garza near Monterrey.

The goal was scored in the 7th, 64th and 75th minutes. This is the first competitive game of Israel coach Luis Fernandez since he took the charge in May this year.

The remaining games of Group F will be played on Friday. The match will be with Latvia hosting Croatia and Georgia visiting Greece.

It was commanding win of Werder Bremen against Sampdoria and the team will carry an advantage into the next Tuesday’s Champions League.

The three goals, secured in the second half, makes Bremen the favorites and also to progress in the group stage.

A last minute own goal by Goalkeeper Jose Reina helped Arsenal claim the draw with 1-1 on Sunday against Liverpool.

The game was a full time entertaining in the second half. Though the Gunners were poor, but they have got out of jail after an error from Pepe Reina in the 90th minute. The two teams will be probably happy with a point each.

There were two red cards in the game with couple of yellow cards. The red cards wwere shown to Joe Cole of Liverpool in the 45th minute and Laurent Koscielny of Arsenal in the 90th minute.

When the match was just to end, five minutes before Kakuta spun the ball around in midfield. Passing by with two central defenders, his shot was saved by goalkeeper Alex, but but he followed up and chipped the ball perfectly for Lacazette to head in at the far post.

Francis Smerecki, coach of France, said: “I have known some of these players for four years, and they really deserve to be champions of Europe. They were really disappointed to lose the under-17 final two years ago. They really wanted to win tonight.”

In 2005 France had won the tournament. Spain won it in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
